The FACES Foundation (Family and Caregiver Education & Support), a Milford, Michigan-based nonprofit, is pleased to announce that Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Inc. in Irvine, California, through an unrestricted charitable grant, is now the corporate sponsor of the FACES’ signature program, the PHIL Award (Pulmonary Health & Illnesses of the Lungs).
The PHIL Award is the only national hospital-based program that recognizes outstanding respiratory therapists who provide exemplary care for patients with respiratory illnesses, as nominated by patients, family members, and other caregivers.
“The respiratory therapist is with us from the day we’re born till the day we die and all our breathing challenges in between. The PHIL Award helps hospitals honor these often-unsung heroes and gives patients a voice in their care. We currently have hospital partners in 39 states and the District of Columbia,” said Sharman Lamka, President/Founder of the FACES Foundation.
