What will you be doing?
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the VP of Business Development and Sponsorships will be responsible for the activation and delivery of non-dues business revenue from existing and new sources. This includes, but is not limited to, corporate sponsorships, grants, special projects, advertising, affinity partnerships and American Respiratory Care Foundation (ARCF) sponsorship/events.
The VP of Business Development and Sponsorships is responsible for all aspects of the revenue-generating project life cycle from procurement of funding, resource allocation, project management and distribution to stakeholder groups. In collaboration with executive stakeholders, this position will also reimagine, develop, launch, and deliver new corporate partnership programs, sponsorship opportunities and co-marketing agreements which create revenue streams on behalf of the AARC and/or the ARCF.
This position will lead and direct AARC’s Corporate Partner program. It is the VP of Business Development and Sponsorships’ responsibility to oversee, consult with and maintain strong corporate relationships between the AARC and corporate partners. This position will serve as a forward-facing representative of the Association to all relevant external stakeholder organizations as determined by the Executive Director.
What education and experience are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
- At least 7 years of fundraising, sales, revenue generation and/or business development experience required. Must have experience in soliciting significant funds from industry and/or other like partners.
- Understanding of the respiratory profession, medical equipment, pharmaceutical industry, or medical affairs experience strongly preferred.
- Certified Association Executive (CAE) preferred.
- Must be comfortable managing corporate relationships at the executive level, selling and closing on revenue opportunities.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be independent, self-driven, and accountable for your own performance, including, but not limited to the achievement of revenue targets and personal goals.
- Must have the ability to work under high pressure, stressful working conditions. Must be able to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to travel to various AARC events (30%).
