About this Webcast
This webinar, sponsored by the Leadership and Management Specialty Section, equips respiratory care leaders with practical tools for navigating the profession’s most ethical decisions — from unsafe staffing and end-of-life conflicts to financial pressures that erode clinical standards. Grounded in the four principles of biomedical ethics, the AARC Statement of Ethics, and CMS Conditions of Participation (42 CFR §482.57), the session reframes ethics as an operational leadership discipline rather than an abstract exercise.
Participants will explore moral resilience, the ATS conscientious objection framework, and three interactive case studies across acute, critical, and general care settings. The session introduces the PAUSE Framework — a five-step ethical decision-making tool, along with a Staffing Ethics Checklist for immediate use. All content is supported by peer-reviewed and authoritative references published between 2015 and 2025.
