Elections Committee Questions:

What do you see as the biggest challenge facing the AARC and what do you recommend addressing it?

Engage – Recruitment and retention – making connections at the state level and addressing through social media platforms.

Advocate – Legislation – continue to support the AARC/ PACT initiatives via phone calls, emails, and personal visits.

Educate – Promoting higher education for Respiratory Care.

Elevate – Encouraging fellow practitioners to share their experiences through publications or presentations.

Health care is changing more rapidly than ever. What ideas do you have to help today’s Respiratory Therapist meet these challenges?

Belong to as many professional associations for knowledge growth and networking. Encourage putting themselves out there whether that be speaking, publications, research, state affiliate board member, committee work, and saying yes when asked to be involved.

How would you approach optimizing, developing, and implementing value added benefits, programs, and resources within AARC leadership and governance structures to meet the diverse needs of our members while also cultivating a keen sense of belonging and encouraging long term membership?

I would continue to be involved at the State Affiliate level, maintaining relationships with fellow Respiratory Care Practitioners by encouraging their involvement in our profession. I will offer to get involved where there are needs in the organization. I will continue to put myself out there to be the example of how important and beneficial being a long term member is.

Your role as Director-at Large is to represent the general AARC membership. If given the opportunity to represent, what will be your goals in advocating for the everyday respiratory care professional?

Put in the work where needed to drive the AARC’s Strategic Plan forward. Being available to assist the Board anyway that I can. Support committee work as needed. Mentor new RCPs, earn advanced credentials, and promote advocacy.
