2026 Respiratory Care Fly-In Checklist

The following steps will help make the 2026 Washington D.C. Respiratory Care Fly-in, June 1- 2 a success for everyone involved:

  1. Confirm attendance with state society representatives
  2. Complete 2026 Travel Form by April 24
  3. Confirm flight and hotel reservations by May 1 (hotel confirmations will be sent to you by Marriott, please be sure to check your junk mail and if you do not receive a confirmation please email Maricarmen Martinez at maricarmen.martinez@aarc.org)
  4. Prepare for meetings – read resource and background materials, and prepare with sample talking points
  5. Schedule legislative meetings
  6. Submit your meetings schedule
  7. Review preparing for Washington Fly-in Video (link coming soon)
  8. Attend orientation meeting on June 1
  9. Speak with legislators on June 2
  10. Take pictures with provided signs when possible, email to AARC at marketing@aarc.org and share on social media with hashtag #2026AARCFly-in. Sample posts can be found in the Fly-In Social Media Toolkit.
  11. Attend evening debrief following legislative meetings on June 2
  12. Submit details on who you met with and what follow-up is needed by June 15
  13. Submit any expenses to state affiliate or AARC as required by June 30
  14. Talk to others about your experience and how to continue RT advocacy discussions
