AARC member Tracy Mitchell, RRT, AE-C, cites her ties to the profession in a new letter that just went out to encourage asthma management programs to apply for the 2010 National Environmental Leadership Award in Asthma Management.

“As a respiratory therapist, I know what well-managed asthma looks like,” notes Mitchell in the letter. She goes on to highlight last year’s winner – IMPACT DC, which educates families in the Washington, DC, area – and urges other programs to consider applying for the 2010 award under one of three categories: health plans, health care providers, or communities in action.

Winners receive an all expense paid trip to Washington, DC, to attend the EPA’s National Asthma Forum, June 17-18. Applications are due by March 16 and can be made online at http://www.asthmaawards.info.
