Supervising Respiratory Care Practitioner – Santa Clara Valley Medical & O’Conner Hospital

St. Louise Regional Hospital, part of the Santa Clara Valley Health System, is a 93-bed rural community hospital and is recruiting for a Supervising Respiratory Care Practitioner.  This is a full time, 8-hour day shift position with occasional weekend work required.  The Supervising Respiratory Care Practitioner reports directly to the Enterprise Director of Respiratory Care Services.

The Supervising Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for, but not limited to, creating and maintaining staff schedules, assigning workloads, staff performance evaluations using written and observational tools, acts as a resource/mentor to all staff, completes and issues disciplines as necessary, creates and or revises departmental policies & procedures including protocols and determines staffing and equipment needs for the department.

St. Louise Regional Hospital is part of the Santa Clara Valley Health System which includes Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, O’Connor Hospital and St Louise Regional Hospital.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of five (5) years’ progressive Respiratory Care experience, including supervisory or shift lead/charge duties, required.  Trauma experience preferred.  If hired, competency in all areas of patient care, including trauma and adult ICU, must be demonstrated.

Required License:
A current California State Respiratory Care Practitioner’s license issued by the Respiratory Care Board of California is required.

Required Certifications:
Current certificate of completion in ACLS, PALS and NRP issued by the American Heart Association are required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
