Respiratory Therapists – Nassau University Medical Center – A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility

With a strong commitment to raising the bar for healthcare in our community, Nassau University Medical Center is a Level I Trauma Center and a 530-bed teaching hospital affiliated with the Northwell Health Care System and Stony Brook University.

Our Respiratory Departments provides diagnostic and therapeutic techniques in to all area of the hospital, including Trauma and Emergency department, Adult critical care Units, Pediatrics, Neonatal and med-surgical floors.

We currently have exceptional opportunities for part-time and full-time respiratory therapists at both Nassau University Medical Center and A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility. Responsibilities include assembling, setting and monitoring Ventilators, BIPAP’s, treatments, responding to codes and traumas, securing and managing airways, collect and interpret blood gases; maintain records and prepare reports; establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and communicating effectively.

In addition, you will remain informed of current respiratory therapy methods and procedures; maintain all equipment in proper working conditions; assist in maintaining inventory records and requisition replacement supplies, materials, and equipment. You will also supervise and instruct subordinate staff, as required.

We require an Associate degree or higher from an approved and accredited program of Respiratory Care, RRT Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care, Current New York State Respiratory Therapy License, American Heart Association BLS, Computer skills to document patient therapies/or treatments and data.

Must have continuing possession of a license as a Respiratory Therapist, or a limited permit, issued by the New York State Department of Education.
