Job Summary/Purpose: The Director reports to the Administrator of Therapeutic Services. Under limited supervision, the Director provides patient and employee service excellence, guided by evidence based practice and transformational leadership strategy. This role ensures value and quality driven patient care is provided in a safe and efficient environment for all patients on a 24 hour basis.
Minimum Training and Education: A Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college/university; Master of Business or Health Administration preferred. A minimum of 10 years of respiratory experience in both adult and pediatric care and 5 years of managerial experience with total span of control >100 FTE. Tertiary/ quaternary acute care experience preferred. Certification in specialty area preferred or completion within one year of eligibility strongly encouraged. Demonstrated ability to implement sound business and human resource management principles essential. Experience working in an integrated environment collaborating with other healthcare professionals in planning, development, and performance improvement required. Demonstrated success in developing and executing operational budgets for both outpatient and inpatient operations.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:Current South Carolina licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
