Associate Professor, Respiratory Therapy – River Valley Community College

To educate students and develop curricula in the Respiratory Therapy Program. This position is located at River Valley Community College’s Claremont Campus and shall report to the Department Chair of the Department of Nursing and Respiratory Therapy.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Teaches assigned course schedule in a classroom, laboratory, and/or clinic /field experiences setting as appropriate for the Respiratory Therapy Program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Education, Respiratory Therapy or related Allied Health Sciences. Possession of a Master’s degree in Education shall require twelve (12) graduate credits in Respiratory Therapy or Allied Health Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Experience: Five (5) years of teaching experience in the area of Respiratory Therapy or five (5) years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

OR

Education: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Education or Respiratory Therapy. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Education shall require an Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Experience: Six (6) years of teaching experience in the area of Respiratory Therapy or six (6) years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

Licensure/Certifications: Must be licensed and maintain licensure as a Respiratory Therapist within the State of New Hampshire.

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Thorough knowledge of teaching methods and materials, problems, and subject matter as relates to the course of instruction. Considerable knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used in the area of instruction. Knowledge of educational standards and procedures. Ability to maintain comprehensive records of the progress and development of the individual student. Ability to evaluate student progress and provide guidance to both students and instructors. Ability to work effectively with businesses and community organizations.
