Director of Clinical Education- Respiratory Therapy – Eastern New Mexico University Roswell- Health Sciences Education Department

SALARY:      $59,547.76 – $63,451.27 Annually

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities: This is a 12-month administrative faculty appointment.

  • RCP faculty have the day-to-day responsibility for the instruction and coordination of an assigned cohort of students in the RCP education program clinical realm.
  • Maintain professional skills (RCP License, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP) and subject matter expertise through research in discipline, continuing education, and involvement in professional organizations.
  • Supervise adjunct faculty as assigned.
  • Manage clinical agency agreements, ensure clinical resources meet or exceed contractual obligations.
  • Advises RCP clinical students in coordination with the RCP Program Director.
  • Acts as a liaison between the program and clinical sites.
  • Evaluate cognitive, psychomotor, and affective student competencies in the classroom, lab, and clinical setting.
  • Maintain records consistent with accreditation standards.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of instruction.
  • Request changes in curriculum as necessary.
  • Work with Program Director to process changes via Curriculum Committee. Ensure continuity of instruction for the RCP Program.
  • Attend meetings as needed. Some weekends and evening class times are required.
  • Attendance at conferences requiring overnight stay may be required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university;

  • hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current state license;
  • have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care;
  • have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/ preceptor for students of such programs;
  • complete the CoARC Key Personnel Training Program.

PREFERRED Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university; Five years related experience..
