Respiratory Therapists – Lincare

Lincare is the nation’s leading provider of oxygen, durable medical equipment and clinical respiratory services. We are currently seeking Respiratory Therapists to join our growing Ventilator Services team in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for participating in the performance of the day-to-day activities of the Respiratory Care Unit including but not limited to therapy procedures, in-service education, tracheotomy and ventilator management and weaning, interdisciplinary care with both core and ancillary staff. The Respiratory Therapist is also responsible for the completion of the therapist’s duties both for general population of the facility as well as home care when necessary.

Tasks:

  • Perform competent delivery of all respiratory care procedures while adhering to department policy and procedure
  • Demonstrate excellent working knowledge of respiratory care instruments and equipment
  • Perform troubleshooting with appropriate problem resolution
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all respiratory care procedures
  • Provide timely and accurate updates on patient status to designated supervisor
  • Consult with family members, physicians, and other health care professionals as appropriate
  • Take an active role in in-service education of employees as well as the community
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings as well as all mandatory staff meetings and in-services

Qualifications:

  • Must be sensitive to the physical and psychosocial needs of fragile patients and families
  • Must be responsive to family, staff and facility needs
  • Must display strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exhibit positive team building and participation skills
  • Display ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Must have the ability to learn and implement new techniques, policies and procedures

Education and Experience:

  • Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
  • Current State Respiratory Care License required
  • Credentialed by the NBRC
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be CPR certified
  • Prior experience in ventilator management (either Acute or Home Care) preferred but not required
