Neonatal Pediatric Respiratory Therapist, Flight Team – UF Health Shands Hospital

Open a new chapter of inspired care and reach exciting new heights as a Neonatal Pediatric Flight Respiratory Therapist working on the ShandsCair Critical Care Air Transport team at UF Health Shands Hospital, a nationally renowned teaching hospital located in Gainesville, Florida.

This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position with 24-hour shifts where you will be able to utilize your extensive respiratory therapy training to provide critical and emergency care for neonatal and pediatric patients during air transport from Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. In this role, you’ll be an integral member of our care team providing assessments, care, monitoring and interventions (when necessary) during transport. Our Flight Respiratory Therapists think and act fast with a high degree of skill, care, knowledge and autonomy. Our hospital staff rely on our Flight teams for patient health information and status, as well as direction for care support teams.

We are seeking candidates with the following training, certification(s) and experience:

  • Florida-licensed Registered Respiratory Therapists.
  • 2,000 hours of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a Level III or Level II NICU.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and PALS certifications.
  • Completion of, or ability to complete, a neonatal transport stabilization program within the first year of hire.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to work with poise and composure in high-stress situations.
  • Must meet physical specifications required for aircraft weight (<240 lbs.) and height (<6’3”) limits.

Our Neonatal Pediatric Respiratory Therapists will receive relocation assistance ($3,000 in-state or $5,000 out-of-state), generous salary ranging from $24.98 to $32.74/hour (commensurate with experience), exceptional full-time benefits and generous PTO so you can explore all that Florida has to offer.
