Manager – Respiratory Care – EvergreenHealth

EvergreenHealth is seeking an experienced Respiratory Care Therapist to lead our experienced, talented and dedicated Respiratory Care team!

The Respiratory Care Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Respiratory Care department, including providing a scope of services and depth of knowledge to ensure quality patient care in a safe and cost effective working environment.

Manages all operational aspects of Respiratory Care, including coordination of procedures, patient flow, staffing, patient satisfaction, DME compliance, operational effectiveness, competency, statutory requirements, and facilities.

Utilizes a wide variety of means to educate and market all services to the community, medical practitioners, and other professional staff members.

Develops and administers capital and operating budget for Respiratory Care.

Is accountable for developing, implementing and evaluating policies and procedures for Respiratory Care.

Assures, promotes, and assesses compliance with regulatory agency standards and participates as a leader in preparation and performance of survey activities (State Department of Health and JC).

Performs other duties as assigned.

License, Certification, Education or Experience:

REQUIRED for the position: Must be licensed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in Washington state. Bachelor’s degree, in Healthcare or Management. Three (3) years clinical experience in a hospital based Respiratory Care setting, including experience in adult/pediatric/neonatal areas. Three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS & PALS certification by date of hire. Knowledge of Federal, State, and JC regulations/requirements. Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient/client care. Demonstrated ability to communicate clinical/educational knowledge to staff, patients, and families. Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups being cared for in Respiratory Care. Must have excellent communication skills in order to deliver safe patient care, and to provide a legal record of this care. Must have understanding of financial management and a commitment to the provision of cost-effective care. Knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement applications/technologies, i. e. Lean/Six Sigma.
