This position offers up to a $10,000 bonus paid to newly hired (not working for Providence or one of our affiliates) RCP’s with at least one year of experience.

$5,000 will paid upon hire, and the balance after 12 months of continuous employment.

Providence is calling a Respiratory Care Practitioner (0.9 FTE, Day SHIFT) to the Respiratory Therapy Department at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA

The Respiratory Care Practitioner will manage, assess, plan, and evaluate care for patients with acute and/or chronic cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities in collaboration with the rest of the healthcare team.  The Respiratory Care Practitioner will perform basic computer skills including retrieving patient information, billing, data base management, and editing patient data.

In this position you will:

Demonstrates age specific patient care considerations for the population served:

  • Demonstrates application of knowledge, skills, and behaviors in the physical, motor/sensory, cognitive, psychosocial, patient and family education areas based on PEMC age specific care competency assessment tool.

Initial assesses of the pulmonary status of their patients. Re-evaluates the patient’s continuing pulmonary status:

  • Obtains pertinent medical history, assesses patient’s physical status, identifies any special learning needs, reviews any pertinent laboratory or other procedural data, and documents clinical findings.
  • Correctly evaluate the patient’s response to care and to recommend plan of care changes with proper communication with the ordering physician and other health care professionals. Demonstrated through Chart review.

Assists in developing the patient’s plan of care which integrates their assessment, the patient’s short and long term goals, the medical treatment plan and any pertinent diagnostic data:

  • Collaborates with the physician and other health care professionals to design a plan of care to treat the patient’s pulmonary issues demonstrated through Chart review.

Provide patient education for the Respiratory Care procedures performed:

  • Educate patients and families about the procedures performed and medications administered.
  • Documents this education per hospital and department policy.

Documents and bills for care given. Communicates patient condition to oncoming shift through verbal report:

  • Documents patient care per hospital and department policy. Accurately bills for care given with HIS.
  • Communicates patient condition and treatments through verbal report to the oncoming shift.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate’s Degree Or Two year technical program – Associate Degree in Respiratory Care. Or equivalent educ/experience
  • Washington State License-Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Must have license to work past orientation.
  • Must complete NBRC Registry exam within one year of hire.
  • Must complete certifications, BLS, ACLS, and NRP, within 90-days of hire.
