Respiratory Therapist 1

What You Will Do: Clinical Practice – Administers basic respiratory care therapeutics and diagnostic services with skill and proficiency. Integrates knowledge, skills, and experience to promote optimum care for the patient. Teamwork – Works effectively and appropriately communicates with other healthcare members and patients and/or families if needed. Quality – Utilizes standards, guidelines, protocols, and pathways for optimal care delivery. Incorporates data and information to continually improve care and practice to enhance outcome. Professional Development – Assumes responsibility for self-development through continuing education pathways. Evidenced by direct observation, peer and patient surveys, and documentation.

Additional Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Respiratory accredited CoARC (The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) program.
  • Eligible to sit for the National Board Respiratory Care advanced practitioner exam (Registered Respiratory Therapist). Certified Respiratory Therapist by National Board Respiratory Care.
  • BLS through American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Possession of license from the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Working knowledge in obtaining and interpreting (arterial and capillary) blood gases. Proficient in English.

Respiratory Therapist 2

 What You Will Do:

Clinical Practice – Administers basic and some advanced respiratory care therapeutics and diagnostic services with skill and proficiency. Routinely integrates knowledge, skills and experience to promote optimum care for the patient. Professional Development – Assumes responsibility for self-development through continuing education pathways. Evidenced by direct observation, interview, peer feedback and documentation. Quality – Utilizes standards, guidelines, protocols and pathways for optimal care delivery. Incorporates data and information to continually improve care and practice to enhance outcome. Teamwork – Works effectively and appropriately communicates with other healthcare members, the patient, and families

 Additional Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Respiratory accredited CoARC (The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) program.’, Associates degree from an accredited CoARC
  • 6 months in the critical care environment or 1 or more years of specialized training in advanced diagnostics/pulmonary rehab as a practicing Respiratory Therapist.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist or greater than 10 years as a Certified Respiratory Therapist as defined by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC). Advanced Certifications (ACLS, PALS or NRP) or must obtain within one year of hire.,
  • BLS for the Healthcare Provider (AH)
  • Possession of license from the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Training in advanced bronchial pulmonary hygiene therapies and modalities. Blood Collection Techniques (i.e Aterial/Capillary Puncture). Proficient in English.

Respiratory Therapist 3

 What You Will Do:

Clinical Practice – Administers advanced respiratory care therapeutics and diagnostic services with high level of skill and proficiency. Routinely integrates knowledge, skills and experience to promote optimum care for the patient. Professional Development – Assumes responsibility for self-development through continuing education pathways. Evidenced by peers and patient survey, direct observation, and documentation. Quality – Utilizes standards, guidelines, protocols and pathways for optimal care delivery. Incorporates data and information to continually improve care and practice to enhance outcome. Teamwork – Works effectively and appropriately communicates with other healthcare members, the patient, and families. Evaluated by peers and patient survey, direct observation, and documentation.

 Additional Requirements:

  • 2 years critical care experience.
  • BLS for the HCP Provider through (AHA).  Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). One of the following (ACLS, PALS or NRP). In addition, must possess one of the following: an additional Advance Certification (ACLS, PALS or NRP) or an Advanced Credential (ACCS, AEC, NPS, RPFT, CPFT or SDS) or a relevant Baccalaureate Degree., BLS for the HCP Provider.  Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). One of the following (ACLS, PALS or NRP). In addition, must possess one of the following: an additional Advance Certifications (ACLS, PALS or NRP) or an Advanced Credential (ACCS, AEC, NPS, RPFT, CPFT or SDS) or a relevant Baccalaureate Degree.’, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).  Advance Certification in ACLS, PALS or NRP.  An Advanced Credential (ACCS, AEC, NPS, RPFT, CPFT or SDS)., Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).  Advance Certification in ACLS, PALS or NRP.  An Advanced Credential (ACCS, AEC, NPS, RPFT, CPFT or SDS).
