Full-Time Instructor/Clinical Coordinator, Respiratory Therapy – Mott Community College

Faculty member will be responsible for teaching classes in Respiratory Therapy. Coordinates the clinical faculty and the specific learning experiences in the clinical affiliate sites. Works with the program coordinator and medical director to facilitate the process. Provides for on-going assessment of curriculum implementation, applicability of clinical learning experiences, and progress of individual students through program courses. Coordinates learning experiences to assist students in accomplishing specific behavioral objectives of each course. Conducts classes/provides instruction in Respiratory Therapy theory, lab and clinical practice in accordance with program philosophy, objectives and procedures. Assists clinical preceptors in assessing student performance using approved criteria and guidelines.

Faculty are sometimes called upon to perform quasi-supervisory responsibilities, particularly in their role as Coordinators. When interacting with the support specialist of the AVT Skill Laboratory and office assistants, will provide direction on tasks and request action to be taken.

Job Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related from an accredited institution.
  2. Two years full-time experience on the faculty of a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited Respiratory Therapy Program. Bachelor’s or Master’s in Education, Health Care Education, or related shall be accepted in lieu of two years’ experience on the faculty of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
  3. Three years full-time, recent experience in clinical respiratory therapy as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  4. Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (R.R.T.) credential from National Board for Respiratory Care, and must be licensed or in the process of obtaining licensure by the State of MI as a Respiratory Therapist.
