Congress 2022 Opening Keynote Speaker | Rebuilding What We’ve Lost

Every year attendees look forward to hearing from the Congress Keynote speakers. This year, Internist, Pulmonologist, Critical Care Physician and Co-Chair of the CIBS Center Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Wes Ely, MD, MPH, will take the stage to kick off Congress 2022.

Dr. Ely’s keynote is titled “Rebuilding What We’ve Lost in COVID: A Perspective from the ICU.” This presentation will describe the difficulties that health care professionals are experiencing in their desire to provide the best care to ICU patients amidst the COVID pandemic. Dr. Ely will explain a scientifically proven method for amplifying humanism and dignity so that we can work, one patient at a time, to resurrect. He will use the power of human story to identify aspects of patient suffering that are epidemic within the pandemic,offer hope and strategy for rebuilding what was lost amid the pandemic mayhem and discuss a path forward.
