Student Connection

April 1 , 2010

Here's another issue of our just-for-students communique that we send you from time to time.

Money for You
The American Respiratory Care Foundation (ARCF) annually makes awards to respiratory therapy students for scholarly efforts.  The awards include recognition at the annual awards ceremony, held this year in Las Vegas on Dec 6. The application period for the awards is open through June 15 each year. Please review the guidelines on the ARCF website if you are interested in applying for one of these grants.

2009 Graduates Ahead of 2010 Graduates. . .
. . .at least in terms of the number of photos submitted for our AARC website gallery of graduates. Last year we had nearly 100 graduating class photos; this year – not so many. We’ll extend the deadline till April 10. Send your graduating class of 2010 photo (funny or serious) to Jim Mortenson (mortenson@aarc.org ). We’ll put it on the web in a salute to all students in early May.

$50 is All it Takes
To extend your AARC membership for one year, please send in your dues before your AARC membership expires (for many student members that is the same as your grad date). That assures 1) you get the lowest rate available, 2) you have no lapse in benefits, and 3) you get to start taking the free CRCE credits we have online for you. Do it online (choose Student Member Classification) or call (972) 243-2272 to renew.

Social Network for AARC Members Only
Another reason to renew – we’re launching an AARC-only social network for professional support, and a little fun too. Don’t miss out. Again, we say it . . . renew.
