Current Chair

Sheri L. Tooley-Peters, BS, RRT-NPS, CPFT, AE-C

Sheri L. Tooley-Peters, BS, RRT-NPS, CPFT, AE-C, is interim chair for the Sleep Section. Sheri will serve as chair until December 2009, when the new chair, who will be chosen by section members in the AARC elections this fall, will be installed at the AARC International Respiratory Congress in San Antonio, TX.

Currently working as a clinical educator for Masimo, Inc., Sheri has a long history in respiratory care management and respiratory home care in New York and Virginia, and has also served as an adjunct faculty member in the department of cardiopulmonary sciences at the SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. In her last department director position, at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, NY, she was responsible for directing the sleep lab, among many other services.

On the Association front, Sheri has been active in the New York State Society for Respiratory Care (NYSSRC), having served as president and delegate to the AARC House of Delegates. In 2005 she received the NYSSRC Outstanding Affiliate Contributor award. She also chaired the North Country Asthma Coalition in 2002–2005 and has volunteered for numerous health-related organizations and activities, including the Children’s Miracle Network and American Heart Association Heart Walk.
