Missed Treatment Percentage

Definition and Calculation

Missed Treatment Percentage:
This is the percentage of aerosol treatments ordered but not delivered within a given time period. To calculate this metric for your facility, divide the number of missed treatments by the total number of CPT code 94640 + CPT code 94644 + the number of missed treatments in period for which those charges were reported. Thus, Missed Treatment % = total missed treatments/total CPT 94640 + CPT 94644 + total missed treatments.

Interpretation

Color:
The color coding of these values indicates whether they are favorable or unfavorable. Red indicates that the value is more unfavorable while green indicates a more favorable value. Lower percentages are desired for this metric.
Explanation of Value and Percentile Ranking:
The green value represents the 25th percentile. This indicates that only 25% of the reported metric values were better (in this case lower) than this value while 75% of the reported metric values were less favorable than this. Conversely the red value indicates that 75% of the reported metric values were better (in this case lower) than this value while 25% of the reported metric values were less favorable than this. The value in yellow represents the 50th percentile. Half of the reported metrics are better than this value and half are worse.

Ventilator Days/Patient

Definition and Calculation

Vent Days per Patient:
An estimate of the average duration of ventilation per patient calculated as the sum of the initial and subsequent ventilator days divided by initial ventilator days. To calculate this metric for your facility, add the sum of reported CPT codes 94002 and 94003 during a given period of time then divide by the number of 94002 CPT codes reported during that same period of time.

Interpretation

Color:
The color coding of these values indicates whether they are favorable or unfavorable. Red indicates that the value is more unfavorable while green indicate a more favorable value. Shorter duration of ventilator dependence is desirable.
Explanation of Value and Percentile Ranking:
The green value represents the 25th percentile. This indicates that only 25% of the reported metric values were better (in this case lower) than this value while 75% of the reported metric values were less favorable than this. Conversely the red value indicates the that 75% of the reported metric values were better (in this case lower) than this value while 25% of the reported metric values were less favorable than this. The value in yellow represents the 50th percentile. Half of the reported metrics are better than this value and half are worse.
