What is AARC Capitol Connection? It helps get messages directly to Congress in support of AARC’s yearly legislative agenda. For 2017, AARC has a two-prong approach. First, we want Congressional leaders to make sure respiratory therapists are included as telehealth providers in any telehealth legislation introduced this year. Second, we want language to be added to the FY 2018 Labor-HHS Appropriations Report asking CMS to conduct a data analysis of COPD claims in various health care settings to demonstrate the clinical value respiratory bring to improving their patients’ health status. You can email or mail a letter to your member of Congress from the comfort of home, work or wherever you might be. All you need is a computer. Just go to AARC Capitol Connection where depending on “who you are” — RT, physician, student, patient — you can chose a model letter to send to your Senators and your House of Representative member. There’s no need to spend time figuring out who they are or what their email or mail address might be. AARC Capitol Connection does it all for you when you enter the address where you vote.
