Celebrate, Motivate, and Educate During Respiratory Care Week and Lung
Health Day!
Respiratory Care Week is celebrated
annually on the last full week in October. In conjunction with this event,
Lung Health Day is observed on Wednesday of RC Week in order to bring
lung health issues to the attention of the public.
And there’s so much to do!
Start with our list of 100 ideas to get your creative
juices flowing.
Celebrate:
Join your team in activities like awards banquets, parties, fun runs.
- Establish a tradition at
your place to recognize the accomplishments of the respiratory therapy
staff.
- Reward them with a small
gift.
- Get together outside the
office for some FUN!
- Read about the Mission
and History of RC Week.
Motivate:
Encourage your patients and their families in their battles with lung
disease.
- Show them to YourLungHealth.org.
- Pass out a little gift or
sticker to your patients to remind them that their respiratory therapist
is behind them 100%.
Inspire:
Build the desire in others to enter the profession.
Educate:
Take awareness of lung diseases like COPD to a broader audience.
- Use tools from the NHLBI’s Learn
More, Breathe Better campaign. A whole resource kit
is available for your use in raising awareness of the 4th leading cause
of death.
- Do you have an upcoming event? Share it on the campaign
website to get national exposure and check out our list to see what other AARC members are doing.
Innovate:
Maximize your own skills with new resources.
