ACTION ALERT: Now is Time to Support Pulmonary Rehab Legislation
Legislation aimed at requiring Medicare to pay for pulmonary rehabilitation has been included in the Senate Medicare package, and the AARC is urging all its members to redouble their efforts. Write to both your Senators and House member, urging them to keep pulmonary rehab alive in the final Medicare package that comes out of Congress. Write through our easy-to-use Capitol Connection system. More voices, more clout!

Educate Your Patients About Upcoming Inhaler Changes
CFC-containing inhalers will be a thing of the past beginning next January, and the AARC is urging its members to start educating their patients now on the change. “As therapists, it’s our obligation to inform and educate with every patient interaction,” says AARC COO Tom Kallstrom. “If they have questions, we should be the source for their answers.”

AARC Times Wants to Hear Your COPD Stories!
AARC Times will once again be marking COPD Awareness Month in November with “COPD Stories” written by AARC members. If you have a story to tell about a patient (present or past), send it to AARC Times writer Debbie Bunch at debbunch@aol.com. We’re looking for stories that are about 500–800 words long and show a strong connection between you and your patient. The deadline for sending stories is August 20, so start writing today!
