GINA
Act to Protect Americans from Genetic Discrimination
President Bush just signed legislation into law that will protect Americans
from genetic discrimination when buying health insurance and seeking or
maintaining employment. Thanks to robust support from the health care
community, where hundreds of organizations—including the AARC—joined
in a coalition to support the bill, the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination
Act (GINA) is now the law of the land.
