Open Forum Deadline Extended Till June 15
Planning to present an abstract at this year’s Open Forum in Anaheim, but pressed for time to submit? No worries! The submission deadline has just been extended to June 15—so everyone has about another three weeks to finish up their abstracts and complete the online submission process.


International Community Benefits from New Resources
The AARC’s International Committee and International Council for Respiratory Care have just posted two new resources for the international community: a Chinese translation of the Association’s booklet on aerosol devices, and an NPPV learning package.


Government RFP Benefits from AARC Advice
The AARC was at the table as the government wrote requirements for a new RFP for portable ventilators destined for the Strategic National Stockpile. Members Rich Branson and Ray Ritz represented the profession at a CDC meeting held to ensure the RFP included the key components necessary to meet health care needs during a pandemic flu or other disaster situation.


AARC Supports Funding for Key Government Departments
The Association has joined hundreds of other organizations in signing on to a new letter asking for the highest possible funding allocation for the Departments of Labor, Education, and Health and Human Services. The appropriations are needed to help fund important programs, including respiratory research.

The Long Term Care, Management, Neonatal-Pediatric, Sleep, and Surface & Air Transport Sections have just published their Spring Bulletins, so if you belong to one of these great Specialty Sections, click on the link for direct access to the latest news and information from your area of expertise.
