AARC Supports Repeal of Competitive Bidding
The AARC has just sent a letter of support to the Congressmen who introduced legislation to repeal the Medicare competitive bidding program covering durable medical equipment, including oxygen and oxygen equipment. The Association believes the law will have serious adverse effects on chronic respiratory disease patients who depend on supplemental oxygen to breathe easier.

Epinephrine Inhaler Going Off the Market Dec. 31
The AARC is reminding RTs everywhere to talk to their patients about the upcoming phase-out of Primatene Mist. If you have patients who rely on this CFC driven over-the-counter epinephrine inhaler, let them know it will not be available after Dec. 31 and then urge them to work with their clinicians to transition to prescription medications to control their asthma.
