What steps will you take to strengthen international exposure of respiratory care?
1. Attempt to add more nations to the council.
2. Continue to support the International Fellowship Program.
3. Continue to advocate overseas mission by the AARC Executive Board.
4. Hopefully, be able to contact other nation representatives to see how they would react to an association with the AARC.
How would you suggest we recruit and educate the leaders of the future for the AARC?
1. I firmly believe that this needs to begin with student recruitment and education about the AARC. 2. Since students are the leaders of the future, we need to let them know of the many benefits of the AARC such as free student membership. In Arkansas, we offer free registration to the state meeting and try to include the students as much as possible. 3. I see a lot of apathy about the AARC in the field, we as an organization need to reach these and educate them on the many benefits of membership.
With the introduction of the Medicare Respiratory Therapy Initiative Bill in Congress, how are you going to work to get that bill successfully passed?
1. Continue to send out e-mail alerts to membership. 2. Continue to stay in close contact with congress. 3. Need to work on non-AARC members to show them that this impacts them as well. This could help with increase in membership. 4. Continue to back and assist our PACT Committee members. 5. Since Senator Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas is one of our champions in this endeavor, I would work closely with her and our PACT Representatives.
