Criteria and Rules for AARC Fellowship

Purpose:
The AARC Fellowship Program recognizes members who have made significant and sustained contributions to the art and science of respiratory care.

Eligibility:

  • Active or associate members in good standing for at least the five years preceding induction.
  • RRT credentialed by the NBRC or licensed as a physician with a respiratory care-related specialty.
  • Cannot be inducted while a current member of the Board of Directors.

Criteria:
  • Demonstrated nationally prominent leadership, influence and achievement in clinical practice, education or science.
  • Documented evidence of significant contribution to the profession
  • Nomination by a member of the AARC.
Rules:
  1. Nominations will be evaluated by a review committee consisting of five Fellows.*
  2. Fellows will receive a pin and certificate suitable for framing.
  3. Names of new Fellows will be announced at the annual meeting and published in the AARC publications.
  4. Fellows have the right to identify themselves with FAARC after their names.

Nominations for a Fellow cannot be made by self-nomination, but any AARC member may nominate an individual for consideration as a Fellow.

The next group of Fellows will be inducted at the AARC's 2008 International Respiratory Congress in Anaheim, Dec. 13-16. The deadline for nominations is August 31, 2008.
