Criteria and Rules for AARC Fellowship
Purpose:
The AARC Fellowship Program recognizes members who have made significant and sustained contributions to the art and science of respiratory care.
Eligibility:
- Active or associate members in good standing for at least the five years preceding induction.
- RRT credentialed by the NBRC or licensed as a physician with a respiratory care-related specialty.
- Cannot be inducted while a current member of the Board of Directors.
Criteria:
- Demonstrated nationally prominent leadership, influence and achievement in clinical practice, education or science.
- Documented evidence of significant contribution to the profession
- Nomination by a member of the AARC.
Rules:
- Nominations will be evaluated by a review committee consisting of five Fellows.*
- Fellows will receive a pin and certificate suitable for framing.
- Names of new Fellows will be announced at the annual meeting and published in the AARC publications.
- Fellows have the right to identify themselves with FAARC after their names.
Nominations for a Fellow cannot be made by self-nomination, but any AARC member may nominate an individual for consideration as a Fellow.
The next group of Fellows will be inducted at the AARC's 2008 International
Respiratory Congress in Anaheim, Dec. 13-16. The deadline for nominations
is August 31, 2008.
