For Immediate Release

IRVING, TEX. (November 3, 2004) — The 50th International Respiratory Congress, December 4-7, 2004, Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, Louisiana, will feature scientific research on the latest in pulmonary medicine from respiratory therapists worldwide, the world’s largest exhibition of respiratory care equipment and services, and many other programs geared to help respiratory care professionals and the general public learn more about pulmonary health. This leading event will feature health discussions about: 

Obesity and its impact on the pulmonary system, women and smoking and the morbidity and mortality rate that's epidemic in this country, sleep apnea treatment options and new discoveries, nutrition and its impact on the lungs in the elderly population.

Press Conferences are scheduled on Saturday at 2 p.m., Sunday at 1 p.m., and Monday at 1 p.m., at AARC Central in the AARC’s Exhibition Hall. Press should meet at the door to the Exhibit Hall approximately 15 minutes before the event. Members of the media may tour the Exhibit Hall immediately following the Press Conference.
