Why you CAN afford to join the AARC

You may already know that our membership rates are among the lowest and are the lowest when you compare what we do for and provide to our members. And if you’ve ever had the chance to look around our website with a member, you know that we have a lot of information and networking opportunities at our members’ fingertips in our members-only sections. You may already know that the cost of our standard $90 membership works out to 25 cents a day. But did you know that the discounts you can get through your AARC membership may put enough back into your pocket that your membership costs you nothing and even earns you money?

There are all kinds of reasons to become a member of the AARC—this page is devoted to the financial benefits of membership.

But wait! Before we get into the details, do you know about our bulk membership vouchers and our student discounts?

Bulk Membership Vouchers
Buy 10 or more vouchers and get your membership at a discounted rate of $85. For purchases of 40 or more the annual rate is only $75. Learn more about Group memberships.

Students
The student rate for membership is only $50. Students can receive up to 2 years of free web-based membership if their school participates in our free web student program. When students are ready to graduate, the AARC offers them their first year of Active membership at the $50 student rate, a savings of $40! Students can potentially get three years of membership – for only $50! And nearly all of that $50 would come back to you if you took advantage of the NBRC’s $40 discount for first-time RRT test-takers who are – you guessed it – members of the AARC.

At least 12 free CRCEs in a calendar year
The AARC puts on at least 12 and as many as 24 webcasts a year. Members who participate in the live webcast are able to receive 1 CRCE credit, free. If your licensure board requires you continue your education and earn continuing education credits every year, here are 12 for free! To learn more, please visit Webcast Central or contact Customer Service. If you joined at the standard rate of $90 and did not make use of any other member benefits, your cost for these 12 CRCE credits would be $7.50 per. Your cost would be $3.75 if you attended 24 live webcasts in a calendar year. New in 2005: We’re giving every AARC member who joins or renews in 2005 the opportunity to earn 3 CRCE credits from the archives for free! Archives are available for viewing for free, but earning a CRCE credit from viewing an archived webcast costs $15. A reasonable price, but now you can get 3 for free. That means that if you can’t make all or any of the live webcasts, you still have the chance to earn 3 CRCE credits for free—whenever it’s convenient for you. Learn more about this offer.

Discounts on Meetings
AARC members pay discounted registration fees when they attend AARC meetings like Summer Forum, the International Respiratory Congress, and the Asthma Educator Certification Preparation Course. Additionally, many state societies and continuing education program sponsors charge non-members additional fees to attend their events.

Discounts on AARC Products
Do you celebrate National Respiratory Care Week? Do you buy Professor’s Rounds or Uniform Reporting Manuals for your facility? Have you ever purchased lung health tipsheets or IQ cards for your patients or to give away at a health fair? AARC members purchase all of these at a cheaper rate than non-members. Why not take a minute to visit the AARC Online Store and compare the member and non-member prices for the products you’d like to purchase. How much can you save being a member of the AARC?

Discounts on personal goods and services
Have you seen those funny commercials for Geico car insurance? Qualified AARC members in 42 states and the District of Columbia can receive discounts on their car insurance - usually about 8% -through Geico. We also have other personal insurance program discounts – from major medical catastrophe to professional liability. And there are more discounts available – on magazine subscriptions, flower purchases and real estate rebates when you purchase or sell a home. Our partnership with the MBNA WorldPoints Program allows you to earn points through credit card purchases; points that earn you discounts on a variety of products and services. Learn more about our benefits and services.

Raises and Promotions at Work
More facilities are including AARC membership as a requirement for job advancement. Many employers now offer payroll deduction as an easy way for you to pay for your membership.
