PA Therapists Offer Free Spirometry Screening
The Main Line Health Hospitals of Bryn Mawr, Lankenau and Paoli Memorial, recognized their respiratory therapists and the importance of good respiratory health and early detection of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease by offering free lung health screenings to the public in the Main lobbies from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday of RC Week. RTs at the hospitals, which are located near Philadelphia, explained that the lung function test, spirometry, is a simple screening that measures the lungs' airflow and volume. They further explained that the test can identify early onset of COPD, which includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis.
