AirLogix Joins AARC as Lung Health Day Sponsor

For Immediate Release

Lung Health Day Dallas (October 1, 2003) - AirLogix, Inc., and the American Association for Respiratory Care have partnered to support Lung Health Day - October 22, 2003. As a Bronze Sponsor AirLogix is helping respiratory therapists all across the nation participate in this specially designated day to celebrate lung health.

"AirLogix employs respiratory therapists to help patients manage asthma and chronic obstructive lung disease," says Susan B. Riley, AirLogix president and CEO. "This partnership was a perfect fit - a good way for us to show our staff how much we appreciate their contribution as respiratory therapists, while also supporting their professional organization and celebrating Lung Health Day.

"We celebrate Respiratory Care Week every year at AirLogix in a big way and love the thought of contributing to the efforts of the AARC on a national level to highlight the importance of this vital healthcare professional. AirLogix' respiratory therapists do not simply contribute to our business; they ARE our business," Riley adds.

The celebration of Lung Health Day comes during Respiratory Care Week 2003, says AARC President David C. Shelledy, PhD, RRT. Festivities are slated for October 19 through 25.

Respiratory Care Week is a yearly celebration that commends respiratory therapists for the excellent work they do in all care settings, including disease-state management - a relatively new idea that works to teach patients how to manage the symptoms of diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

AirLogix is the leading national provider of disease management services for members with chronic respiratory conditions including asthma and COPD. Since 1994, AirLogix has provided care for over 350,000 patients (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid health plan members) combining high-touch care with high-tech systems resulting in improved clinical outcomes and reduced costs. AirLogix provides focused, NCQA accredited programs that are flexible to meet the diverse needs of our customers and their clients. For details visit their Web site at: www.airlogix.com

The American Association for Respiratory Care, a professional membership association of respiratory therapists, focuses primarily on respiratory therapy education and research. The Association continues to advocate, on behalf of pulmonary patients, for appropriate access to respiratory services provided by qualified professionals.
