AARC Attends World COPD Day Press Conference

Today, Jill Eicher, Director of Government Affairs, and Karen Stewart, AARC Board Member, attended the World COPD Day Press Conference in Washington, D.C.
The press conference will introduce Roger Clemens, Major League Baseball’s six-time Cy Young Award Winner as the national spokesperson for the U.S. COPD Coalition. Clemens’ mother, Bess, was diagnosed in 1993 with COPD. She is 72.
Also present at the conference were Claude Lenfant, MD, Director of the National Heart Lung, and Blood Institute; Eve E. Slater, MD, Assistant Secretary for Health, U.S. Department of Health; and William Bailey, MD, Professor of Medicine, Director UAB Lung Health Center, Eminent Scholar Chair in Pulmonary Diseases, Univesity of Birmingham, Alabama.
