  • Janine Yurkoski comments on leading a Better Breathers support group in this article in the Broomfield, CO, Enterprise. Says Janine, “I just want to be there to answer questions and hold a round table discussion.”

  • Wendy Bicknell is noted as co-chair of a Love Light Trees fundraising event benefiting her hospital in this article in the Clare County, MI, Review.

  • Tammy Miller is featured for her role in a “professor swap” that’s bringing RT education to Albany, GA, in this article on the WALB-TV web site out of Albany. Tammy is an instructor in the program at Southwest Georgia Technical College in Thomasville, GA.

  • Karen Wolfe shares great information about COPD in this article in the Rutland, VT, Herald. Karen wrote about COPD in honor of National COPD Awareness Month.

  • Gary Schell is featured in this interview in the Rapid City, SD, Journal about his career as a respiratory therapist. Gary took the opportunity to share everything from the role RTs play in ventilator care to the close working relationship they have with physicians.

  • Troy Whittaker comments on the potential for respiratory problems resulting from exposure to an open air burn pit at Balad Air Base in Iraq in this article in the Salt Lake City, UT, Tribune. As president of the Utah Society for Respiratory Care, Troy was asked to weigh in on a memo that surfaced suggesting the burn pit could be having detrimental health effects on soldiers.

  • Noreen Van Den Berg receives kudos for the role she played in helping to save the life of a man who collapsed while working out at a local gym in this article in the Green Bay, WI, Press Gazette. “CPR is certainly much different in a controlled situation at a hospital; it’s much more stressful without all the other professionals there to assist,” Noreen told us. “I’m just so glad the outcome was a positive one!”

  • Bob Schwoyer is noted for taking part in a motorcycle event aimed at delivering toys to children for the holidays in this article in the Allentown, PA, Morning Call.
