• Tom Madrin does a great job of addressing pneumonia death rates in this article in the Macon, GA, Telegraph and what his hospital is doing to improve them. Says the manager, ““The general feeling has been you couldn’t have ventilators without ventilator-associated pneumonia. But we had two months in the past year when we had no cases.”

• Curt Kester is noted as a therapist in this article in the Cassville, MO, Democrat about his wife, who just took on a new job as principal of a local elementary school.

• This letter to the editor in the Royal Oak, MI, Mirror touts Dian Slavens’ candidacy for state representative, noting in part that “She is a respiratory therapist (RT), and such Allied Health professionals are dedicated to their practice. They are thus often not found seated in the state Legislature. I would wager that one never encounters an RT until they or their loved ones are in a hospital with breathing problems, then they appreciate an RT.”
