Open Forum Showcases the Best in Research February 13, 2008 While the AARC Program Committee finalizes plans for the program at the 54th International Respiratory Congress, you can be thinking about your part. That’s right. You can play a part in the annual Congress by showcasing your own research. The Open Forum allows you the opportunity to present the results of original research and studies in respiratory care. By submitting an abstract of your work to a team of reviewers, you may be chosen to present your study in a symposium format. How does it work? You prepare and display a poster, then are given 15 minutes to present your work before a group of other observers. They have the opportunity to comment on and discuss your findings. This year’s meeting in Anaheim, CA will be held Dec. 13-16. The Open Forum is one of the main attractions at the Congress. An Exhibit Hall and almost two hundred other lectures are other focal points of the meeting. Mike Gentile, RRT, FAARC, chair of the AARC Program Committee says, “We’re looking for your best research and clinical observations to include in our Open Forum presentations.” Abstracts must be submitted before June 1, 2008 at Open Forum’s Abstract Central, a.k.a. EASY STREET. If your abstract is accepted you will be eligible to be selected for one of many awards being offered by the American Respiratory Care Foundation. Please refer to the selection criteria on the Foundation website. |
