First Five Section Bulletins Online Now January 22, 2008 Members of the Adult Acute Care, Continuing Care & Rehabilitation, Diagnostics, Education, and Home Care Sections can read the Winter issues of their Bulletins online now. Here are your direct links to these informative publications – plus a sneak peak at what you’ll find when you get there: Adult Acute Care: Incoming Section Chair Mike Hewitt outlines his goals for the section, while Bulletin Editor Joe Hylton provides a great overview of HFOV. Continuing Care & Rehabilitation: Section Chair Debbie Koehl recaps the New Horizons Symposium at the AARC Congress and provides some recent abstracts cited during the session. We also have a great overview of the section business meeting. Diagnostics: Section Chair Charles McArthur summarizes several diagnostic-related talks at the Congress, while Cheryl Morgan presents her final column as Bulletin editor. The issue also features an article on the most recent guideline for Interpretive Strategies for Lung Function Testing and why it uses NHANES III reference equations for spirometry. Education: This issue includes enlightening columns by Bulletin Editor Dennis Wissing and Section Chair Jeff Ward, a provocative article on higher education for RTs, part two of our two part series on clinical simulations, and more. Home Care: A timely article from Section Chair Bob McCoy on the future of home care and what clinicians need to do now to ensure patients have access to qualified RTs joins an article on benchmarking and a great Q&A with the 2007 Invacare Award winner. The remaining five Specialty Sections -- Long Term Care, Management, Neonatal-Pediatrics, Sleep, and Surface & Air Transport – will publish their Winter issues soon. If you have yet to join one or more of these AARC Specialty Sections just go to section sign up, fill out the form, and see what you’ve been missing. |
