Click on the following links to access these AARC publications—
Long Term Care: Health care reform and how it might impact long term care takes center stage here, and we also have a Facility Profile featuring a skilled nursing center in Pennsylvania.
Management: Hot topics abound in this edition, with articles on eliminating VAP, reducing missed medication doses and concurrent therapy, messaging the value of RTs, and assessing the difference between measuring competency and measuring proficiency. Add in a piece on chasing your dreams, and managers have a great read ahead of them.
Neonatal-Pediatrics: With the H1N1 flu expected to regain strength as kids head back to school this fall, our overview of the virus in the pediatric setting could not be more timely. We round out the issue with a look at how early identification can significantly improve outcomes for kids diagnosed with congenital heart defects.
Sleep: The section has recently undergone some leadership changes, and you can read all about it in this issue. We also introduce members to the two candidates who will be running for section chair in the AARC elections this fall.
Surface & Air Transport: We have a great overview of transport-related topics at this year’s AARC Congress in San Antonio, plus an update on the NBRC critical care exam, an article on how one hospital is adding RTs to its transport program, and the first in our new Member Focus series.
