Student Club Helps College Go Tobacco Free May 11, 2009 The Tarrant County College District in Hurst, TX will now be going tobacco-free thanks in part to a petition brought about by the Respiratory Care Student Club.
The petition was started in April, 2008 at the “Going Green Spring Fest” where they collected more than four hundred signatures on an overcast and very windy day. It was announced April, 2009 that all of the College District has decided to become tobacco free starting May 27, 2009 following a vote by the Board of Trustees. The student club received a note from Dr. Larry Darlage, president of the TCC NE-campus, addressing the student’s efforts in their petition. John Hiser, MEd, RRT, former AARC president, is program director at the college. |
