Got Questions? Help Line has the Answers!

March 7, 2008

A question has come up in your facility about a respiratory treatment. You need answers, and you need them now. Where do you turn?

To the AARC Help Line! As an AARC member, you can tap into the best minds in respiratory care through this online service, which allows members to submit questions and receive responses from their colleagues all across the country. In most cases, you’ll receive a response the same day you post the question—and many times answers will turn up within hours, or even minutes.

A quick look at just a few of the topics that have been discussed on Helpline recently illustrates the wide utility of this membership benefit—

  • Aerosolized amphotericin B
  • Automatic substitution for long acting inhalers
  • Oxygen charging
  • MDI via ventilator and humidification
  • N95 particulate respirator masks
  • Bedside PFT with a balloon pump
  • Basic bedside spirometry for MD office use
  • Doctor requesting special vent
  • Bipap masks and skin breakdown
  • Alpha 1 testing in pulmonary lab
  • Role of the clinical educator in respiratory care
  • Liability insurance
  • Independent lung ventilation
  • Tracking/charting missed treatments

But posting your own questions and receiving answers is just one way to use Help Line. Peruse the Help Line frequently and you’ll get all sorts of inspiration. You can also track your own questions by using the “My Questions” tab.

So check out Help Line today (have your member number handy) and start using it to pick the best respiratory care brains in the country—your fellow AARC members!
