First Five Section Bulletins Online Now November 2, 2007 Members of the Adult Acute Care, Continuing Care & Rehabilitation, Diagnostics, Education, and Home Care Sections all have some reading to catch up on: the Fall editions of your Section Bulletins are online now! Here are your direct links to these informative publications and what you’ll find when you get there: Adult Acute Care: This issue is all about airways, with articles on bag-mask ventilation and endotracheal intubation, rapid sequence intubation, management of the difficult/failed airway, and the unanticipated difficult intubation. Continuing Care & Rehabilitation: Here you’ll find news and information on the pulmonary rehab legislation, updated asthma guidelines, pursed lip breathing, and a great “Lung Games” program for pulmonary rehab patients. Diagnostics: Maintaining quality in a private practice lab and a new spirometry training program for non-traditional personnel take center stage in this issue. Education: In addition to several of the Summer Forum abstracts, you’ll find articles on emergency preparedness for RT students, baccalaureate and graduate level education for RTs, and simulation in health care. Home Care: Two great question and answer pieces address hot topics in home care: oxygen and pulse oximetry under mandatory accreditation and the AARC’s new CPG on Oxygen Therapy in the Home or Alternate Site Health Care Facility. What about the remaining five Specialty Section Bulletins? Long Term Care, Management, Neonatal-Pediatrics, Sleep, and Surface & Air Transport members can look for their Fall Bulletins next month. And if you’ve yet to join one or more of these ten Specialty Sections remember that adding section membership to your overall membership package is easy and can be done at any time -- you don’t have to wait for your annual renewal.
