EPA Course is Back and All Online!

July 2, 2007

The popular Indoor Asthma Triggers and the Respiratory Therapist course sponsored by the American Respiratory Care Foundation (ARCF) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is back and better than ever before because now it’s all online.

That means everyone can take advantage of this cutting edge program without leaving home. The asthma triggers course is available without cost and carries three continuing respiratory care education (CRCE) credits for passing a post-test.

So check out the ARCF/EPA course page and learn more about the course and how you can take advantage of this great opportunity to increase your knowledge of indoor asthma triggers.

“The more we all know about indoor asthma triggers, the better able we’ll be, as a profession, to help our patients get the kind of education and assessment they need to minimize exposure to the things that worsen their asthma,” says AARC COO Tom Kallstrom, RRT, AE-C, FAARC. “Now that all this information is just a mouse click away, respiratory therapists everywhere have the chance to become experts in this area of asthma care.”

The web page features lots of other good information aimed at helping you become your facility’s asthma expert as well, including links to the EPA’s indoor division, a resource library full of materials for you and your patients, updated science articles from around the world, how-to information on joining the AARC’s Asthma Roundtable (free to AARC members), and more on how you can join the growing number of RTs earning the asthma educator-certified credential available from the National Asthma Educator Certification Board.
