AARC Member Tim Myers Appointed to AHA Pediatric Subcommittee

July 26, 2007

AARC member Timothy R. Myers, BS, RRT-NPS, has just been asked to serve on the American Heart Association Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Committee Pediatrics Subcommittee. The American Heart Association has three ECC Subcommittees (BLS, ACLS, and Pediatrics).

The AHA ECC Pediatric Resuscitation Subcommittee meets twice a year for 3 days in Dallas. The committee is a multi-disciplinary group of dedicated professionals who are charged with resuscitation guidelines revision and development of life support training programs. The primary work of all ECC Subcommittees is development of American Heart Association Guidelines on CPR.

Myers, who also sits on the AARC Board of Directors, will serve a one year term, ending next June, and will attend all meetings of the committee, bringing his wealth of experience in pediatric respiratory care to this key decision-making group. The next meeting is scheduled for September 18-20.

Tim Myers is Director of the Asthma & Diagnostic Centers and Pediatric Respiratory Care, and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at University Hospital’s Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, OH.
