AARC Endorses a Reinvigorated FDA

In an open letter to Congress, AARC is joining numerous other groups in asking Congress to enact legislation to help streamline and responsibly modernize the Food and Drug Administration.

The letter states: "While the FDA has made a number of administrative improvements during the past year, we believe that legislation is necessary to ensure timely availability of safe and effective medical devices." The letter identifies the problem as being the FDA's cumbersome and slow regulatory process for allowing patients and doctors access to new products.
