Endobronchial Ultrasound Bronchoscopy

Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) technology is utilized in diagnostic bronchoscopy to obtain better targeted specimens from the lymph nodes or masses outside the airway. This presentation will describe the advantages of EBUS for transbronchial needle aspiration sampling and the respiratory therapist's role in assisting with the procedure. Discussion will include details on establishing this service, including physician training, reimbursement, and capital and operational expenses.
