The Strategic National Stockpile—What Respiratory Therapists Need to Know

The first part of this presentation will provide basic information about the ventilators available from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Strategic National Stockpile. The second part of the presentation will address considerations for implementation including triage as well as technical issues including circuit use, humidification, filtration, and personal protective equipment. Many of these issues are described in the AARC’s Ventilator Acquisition Guidance Document.
