Deadline for submissions extended to January 20th!

We would like to invite you to submit a proposal for presentation at the 52nd International Respiratory Congress of the American Association for Respiratory Care to be held December 11–14, 2006, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The AARC® Annual Meeting attracts more than 6,000 attendees working in all settings of cardiorespiratory care, including hospitals, home care agencies, long-term care facilities, case management, and manufacturing and distribution of hospital and home medical equipment and supplies.

If you, your group, your organization, or your company are interested in making a presentation at the 2006 meeting, please prepare your proposal in accordance with the following guidelines below and using the online or printable version of the Proposal for Program Form. Proposals must be submitted by January 20, 2006.

Purpose of the Congress

  • To provide education in all areas of cardio-respiratory care.
  • To offer opportunities for professional growth and development
  • To provide an opportunity for practitioners to come together to share lessons learned and build ongoing networks of support.

Events
Presentation proposals will be considered for the events below. (This does not include the submission of abstracts for presentation in the journal RESPIRATORY CARE’s OPEN FORUM. Proposals for presentation in the OPEN FORUM should be submitted separately using the guidelines published in the journal.)

  • Lectures (1 hour or less)
  • Symposia (4 hours or less)
  • Workshops (3 hours or less)

Who May Submit a Proposal?
Proposals may be submitted by individuals, groups, institutions, or companies with interest in the practice of cardiorespiratory care.

To Submit a Proposal

  • You must prepare your proposal by completing the Proposal for Program Form.
  • Your proposal must be received by January 20, 2006.
  • You may submit more than one proposal for more than one event (you may duplicate the form).
  • You will be notified of the decision by the proposals review group (the AARC Program Committee) by April 14, 2006. All decisions are final.
  • If your proposal is accepted, you will be responsible for (1) preparing an abstract for publication by the AARC, and (2) providing handouts that you may require.

You may submit proposals for lectures, tutorial sessions, workshops, or symposia on any of the following subjects:

  • Adult Acute Care
  • Continuing Care/Rehabilitation
  • Diagnostics
  • Disease Management
  • Demand Engineering
  • Education
  • Home Care
  • Management
  • Perinatal/Pediatrics
  • Long Term Care
  • Transport

Selection Process
Proposals not in compliance with the proper format will not be considered. Proposals will be chosen by the AARC Program Committee on the basis of originality, relevance of topic, focus on change (change that is quantifiable and can be replicated in other organizations), proposed presentation style, and scientific excellence.
