Site and Hotel Information
Convention Site/Co-Headquarters Hotels
All official Congress lectures and exhibits, unless otherwise noted, will take place at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, 200 E. Market St., San Antonio, Texas 78205.
The co-headquarters hotels are the Marriott Rivercenter and the Marriott Riverwalk. The official social functions will be held at the Marriott Rivercenter, 101 Bowie Street.
Hotel Reservation Deadline
The reservation deadline for AARC Convention rates was November 11, 2009. Two hotels have agreed to extend their cut-off dates. Go to the “Online Reservations” paragraph near the bottom of this page to check for availability and make reservations at these properties.
All reservation requests must be accompanied by a valid credit card or a $150 check guarantee. Requests received without a valid guarantee will be returned without being processed. Credit cards must be valid through December 2009 and may be billed any time after November 11, at the discretion of your confirmed hotel.
If you choose to mail in a check guarantee ($150), it should be made payable to the AARC Housing Bureau and mailed along with your hotel reservation form to the address shown.
The AARC Housing Bureau will send an acknowledgement. Please review information for accuracy. E-mail acknowledgements will be sent within 12 hours of reservation being processed. Faxed and mailed acknowledgements will be sent in 3–5 days. If you do not receive your acknowledgement in this time frame, please contact the AARC Housing Bureau by fax at 210-207-6702, or email: firstname.lastname@example.org. You will not receive a written confirmation from the hotel.
Special requests cannot be guaranteed; however, hotels will do their best to honor all requests. Hotels will assign specific room types upon check-in, based on availability.
The AARC Housing Bureau must receive all cancellations prior to or on October 28, 2009 to avoid a penalty. Any cancellation after October 28 will be assessed a $50 cancellation fee. This fee will be charged 7 days after the cancellation.
Use the AARC Housing Bureau for changes and cancellations through Nov. 11. On November 12, no new reservations, changes or cancellations can be made while the reservations are transferred to the hotels. Beginning November 13, new reservations, changes and cancellations must be directed to the hotels. All cancellations must be received within 72 hours prior to arrival or one night room and tax will be assessed by your confirmed hotel. Please note: Your confirmed hotel may assess an early departure fee for departure date changes at check-in.

The Marriott Rivercenter and Marriott Riverwalk are the co-headquarters hotels.
