The American Association for Respiratory Care and the Program Committee proudly invite you to participate in the 51st International Respiratory Congress, the educational meeting for respiratory care professionals from the United States and around the world. Thousands of respiratory therapists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers and leaders will gather in San Antonio for four full days of “what really matters” programming (click left column for a review of the program). There will also be four early morning educational symposia offering you an opportunity to participate in small sessions with interchange with the faculty and additional continuing education credit. The RESPIRATORY CARE Open Forum, where practitioners like you present their research findings to the rest of us, is the largest one ever presented at our Congress, with 18 symposia spread out over the four days of the meeting. All the companies in our industry will be represented in the Exhibit Hall. This is your opportunity to get connected with new suppliers and new budget-maximizing ideas. Live demonstrations, interactive exhibits, and state-of-the-art displays will WOW you with what you need to provide the best care possible to your patients.

The 2005 Congress is approved for all the hours of continuing education credit you need to maintain your state license, up to 24 credits.

In just four days the convention and exhibition will arm you with innovation, inspiration, and proven experiences that are easy to implement.

This year's program covers all the areas of our diverse practice, including ethics in healthcare, COPD, asthma, advances in mechanical ventilation, education, research, transport, sleep medicine, pediatrics, updates in diagnostic standards, home care innovations, management, international perspectives and many other topics. The Program Committee has made sure that the Congress program lives up to its reputation as the “gold standard” of all respiratory care meetings providing contemporary programming addressing the needs of everyone caring for patients with pulmonary disease. In fact, it is through direct and frequent communication with our members and section chairs that this year’s conference was developed.

We look forward to seeing you at the 51st International Respiratory Congress in one of the great cities in the United States, San Antonio. RTs on a Mission awaits all respiratory professionals.
